Italian Desert

‘Italian Desert’ is a minimalistic landscape photography series by the Munich based visual artist & photographer Roland Krämer. In this series Roland showcases various parts of the Val d’Orcia – a rural region in Tuscany, Italy.

During the production he focused on creating reduced and clean compositions through shooting in harsh light conditions during the day to show the vastness of the valley. With the help of high focal lengths he also highlighted the abstract patterns of the dried out earth structures and plant life during the hot summer days.
